Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)

The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for Southwest Missouri was approved by the SMCOG board on January 25, 2017. This document is the result of a yearlong process by a diverse fifteen member committee representing regional stakeholders. The CEDS provides an overview of regional opportunities, resources and constraints to economic development, and identifies a plan to achieve economic growth.

This document may be downloaded below, or to obtain hard copies visit the SMCOG office at 110 Park Central Square, Springfield, MO 65806

Transportation Advisory Committee

Each year the SMCOG Transportation Advisory Committee prioritizes local transportation needs within the SMCOG region. Road, bridge, bicycle and pedestrian regional needs are then prioritized with other area regional planning commissions into the MoDOT southwest district regional needs list.
