Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan Update Meetings for Christian County and Barry County

In 2004-2005, SMCOG assisted several of its member counties in developing their Natural Hazard Mitigation Plans, including the counties of Barry, Christian, Dallas, Lawrence, Polk, Stone, Taney and Webster. Updates of the Hazard Mitigation Plans for Lawrence and Webster counties are currently underway and kickoff meetings to begin the plan update process for Barry and Christian counties have been scheduled.

All citizens and stakeholders in Barry County and Christian County are invited to attend one of the kickoff meetings in their respective county to learn about the purpose of the Hazard Mitigation Plan and the plan update process. Throughout the plan update process, all interested persons are encouraged and welcome to provide input and feedback on the strategies and actions proposed by their communities to reduce or eliminate the impacts of future natural hazard events.

Webster County Public Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

A Public Meeting for the Preliminary Draft of the Webster County Hazard Mitigation Plan update, which is part of the SEMA/FEMA requirements for the plan, has been scheduled for January 6, 2009 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The meeting will be conducted at the Marshfield City Hall located at 798 S. Marshall, Marshfield, MO 65706.
